Synopsis
When a violent shipwreck separates the twins Viola and Sebastian, each believes the other has drowned in the turbulent sea. Washed ashore in the mysterious, music-filled kingdom of Illyria, the resilient Viola disguises herself as a young man named Cesario to find work in the court of Duke Orsino. She is quickly hired to deliver Orsino’s passionate love letters to the grieving Countess Olivia. The plan backfires completely when Olivia falls hard for the disguised messenger, unaware that Viola has secretly fallen in love with the Duke himself.
Meanwhile, a hilarious storm of mischief brews below stairs. Olivia’s rowdy uncle, Sir Toby Belch, teams up with a colorful cast of misfits to play a devastatingly funny prank on Olivia’s arrogant, fun-hating steward, Malvolio. As mistaken identities multiply and romantic wires cross, Illyria becomes a dizzying playground of unrequited love, chaotic subplots, and exquisite folly. Will true love find its way through the disguise, or will Illyria be left in permanent comic confusion?
